Contentful ist eine Content Plattform die in der Cloud läuft. Die Superpower von Contentful liegt in der Strukturierung, Weiterverarbeitung und Bereitstellung von Content – und somit letztlich von Daten jeglicher Art. Z.B. für eine Smartphone App, PIM - System, Produktkatalog eines Onlineshops, Inhalte einer Website usw.
Der Grundstein zu Contentful wurde 2013 in Berlin gelegt. Seither setzen Global Player wie IKEA, TUI oder Westwing, aber auch mittelständische Industrieunternehmen sowie Hidden Champions auf den Data Infrastruktur-Anbieter. Contentful eignet sich für alle Projekte, die stark von ihren Inhalten abhängig sind und diese nicht nur in einem Kanal ausspielen wollen – seien es Online Shops, Plattformen, Websites, Intranets oder auch PIM Systeme. Als Infrastruktur für Content-Management setzt Contentful, im Vergleich zu klassischen DXPs oder CMS wie TYPO3, komplett auf Schnittstellen (APIs). Contentful ist deshalb “Headless”. Das bedeutet: Die Inhaltsschicht ist von der Präsentationsschicht getrennt. So können die Inhalte in Contentful gemanaged und in unterschiedlichen Kanälen (Website, Apps, etc.) ausgegeben werden.

Pump up the JAM Stack
The JAM stack is the foundation for our content management solutions. Behind the JAM stack is a thin frontend layer that connects any backends via APIs. The backend in this case is a CMS, but can also be a PIM, DAM or business logic. The developed frontend can be delivered completely statically rendered via a CDN; or edge-side from the cloud. In addition to the JAM stack, we also use modern tools such as next.js or Gatsby. These optimize the website for the user entirely in terms of core web vitals, which are important for the Google search algorithm and good organic rankings.
